Alyssa DeSena ND
Dr. Alyssa is a licensed naturopathic physician in the state of Connecticut. She received her doctorate of naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, California in San Diego. Before medical school, she attended Eastern Connecticut State University where she graduated with a BS in biology.
She found naturopathic medicine after some of her family members started seeing a naturopathic doctor and saw such amazing results. This encouraged her to see a naturopathic doctor herself and pursue a career in naturopathic medicine.
Growing up she always struggled with digestive issues and pain with her period that got gradually worse. Naturopathic medicine allowed her to reach the root cause instead of covering up symptoms with medications or just ignoring them. Her passion for hormone and digestive health came from personal history of struggles and hearing stories of many women experiencing the same problems she encountered.
Outside of work, she spends time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and being outdoors. She recently got into snowboarding, so you can find her on the slopes in the winter.
